Denver-March Snow Storm for Friday
A Winter Storm Warning has been Posted for the Denver Metro Area. Today, March 18th, clouds and sun will be the rule with highs in the 60′s. Tonight, the weather begins to change as a potent storm develops and colder air moves in changing rain to snow. Friday, snow and blowing snow will be the big weather story with highs only around the upper 20s with temperatures falling into the teens by Friday night. Moderate to Heavy Snowfall can be expected in the mountains, the front range foothills & the adjacent high plains late tonight into Friday March 19th. 6 to 12″ of snow are likely. Secondary roads and neighborhoods will likely be the problem areas as they become snow and slush covered. Strong upslope NE wind gusting up to 30 miles per hour will also cause blowing and drifting of the snow.
