World’s Worst Weather !
Mount Washington Observatory has been monitoring the elements at one of the planet’s most extreme places. Mount Washington is a rocky, windswept summit in New Hampshire with bitter cold, dense ice fog, heavy snow, and record wind gusts. The Observatory sits at 6, 288 feet and has earned the title of the Worst Weather on the Globe. I am writing this at 6:59 pm West Coast Time, 9:45 pm at Mount Washington, NH. The temperature at 9:45 pm on March 4th, 2010 is 9.9 degrees with the wind out of the NE at 39.5 miles per hour making the wind chill 14.9 degrees below zero. Burrrrrrr
NOTE: New Hampshire’s Mount Washington has LOST its distinction as the place with the highest wind gust ever recorded on Earth. It used to be 231 miles per hour at Mount Washington, NH. A panel from the World Meteorological Organization was reviewing extreme weather and climate data and they turned up a 253 mile per hour gust on AUSTRALIA’S BARROW ISLAND during CYCLONE OLIVIA IN 1996.
Huge Waves Kill 2 on Cruise Ship in the Mediterranean Sea
BELOW: THE FRIGHTENING YOUTUBE VIDEO OF THE ACUAL WAVES HITTING THE LOUIS MAJESTY: WATCH THE 2ND VIDEO DOWN AND NOTICE THE DARK AND STORMY SKY IN THE BACKGROUND! THERE WERE REPORTS OF 60 MILE PER HOUR WINDS IN THE AREA AT THE TIME, THIS WAS LIKELY THE CAUSE OF THE 26 TO 30 FOOT WAVES CRASHING INTO THE SHIP.
ABOVE: ALSO YOUTUBE VIDEO OF ONE OF THE ACTUAL WAVES HITTING THE CRUISE SHIP:
Greek and Cypriot officials said, freak tsunami-like waves measuring 26 to 30 feet high ploughed into a Mediterranean cruise ship, sweeping 2 passengers to their deaths and injuring many others.
This horrific tragedy unfolded Wednesday March 3rd, on the Louis Majesty, owned by Cypriot. The waves developed near the French port of Marseilles with 60 mile per hour wind in the area and a dark and stormy sky. Witnesses say, the walls of water appeared from nowhere breaking glass windshields in the forward section, as you see in the 1st youtube video above. The ship returned to Spain after the tragedy.
There were nearly 2,000 people on the cruise ship, 1,350 passengers and 850 crew. The casualties were very serious, one German and an Italian passenger died, at least 6 others were injured.
The Louis Majesty was built in 1992 and it can house 1,790 passengers. The entertainment, dining and recreation onboard are of high caliber. There are 6 elevators in the ship, 6 international resturants and 9 lounges.

TREE FALLS, KILLING A MAN IN CENTRAL PARK IN NYC
The snow in New York City has been so heavy and wet that trees are beginning to fall in the NYC area. Jose Salvador- The FOX 5 10 pm producer says the weather is being blamed on the death of a 56 year old man. It happened when a tree branch came crashing down in Central Park near East 67th Street. The weight of the snow is being blamed for the death. Also, a tree came down on a bronx express bus, no one was injured in that incident.
